"The exploitation of migrants only helps to drive down wages and working conditions for the domestic workforce. It is in the interests of some bosses to deny migrants their full rights, and this is what undermines social justice for all. This is why the fight for migrant rights is in everyone's interest."

SATURDAY 7th OCTOBER
|
Demonstrate…
This day of action is directed against the denial of rights, against the criminalisation of migrants and for the freedom of movement. We demand:
- Regularisation for all and equal rights for all migrants and refugees
- Tthe closure of all detention centres in Europe and everywhere
- An end to all deportations and to the externalisation process which turns countries on the edges of the European Union (and beyond) into holding camps
- Social justice and security for all.
This demonstration is a part of a 3rd international Day of Action called by the European Social Forum in Athens in May 2006
The real movement of migrants, the masses of people who cross borders every day to look for work and better conditions of life, has forced discussion of migration on the political agenda. We urge activists and migrants to join together to resist the Home Office and the right-wing press, and to act in solidarity to demand equal rights for all.
